Marcel Beyer is a Senior Lecturer of Environmental Journalism and Urban Reporting in the Dutch-language programmes as well as the international programmes in Utrecht including Europe in the World and European Culture and European Journalism. Marcel has fulfilled a number of diverse functions at the Utrecht School of Journalism. He coordinates the Foreign Reporting specialisation and has worked on introducing foreign reporting tracks in all four study-years of the Bachelor's programme. Marcel has also worked on the development of new curriculum which reflect the demands posed to journalists covering climate change and its related effects in both the local and global contexts. Outside of his lecturing and coordination duties, Marcel is the editor-in-chief of a prestigious Dutch magazine on city planning and urban development. In addition, he is a published author of several thematic travel guides in Latin America.
