Marc Veldt is a Senior Lecturer of Law at the School of Journalism in Utrecht: including Dutch and EU criminal law, freedom of speech, copyright and human rights law. He teaches European law (EU, Human rights) and international law in The Europe in the World programme. In addition, Marc is the managing editor of the student-run newsroom 'Reporting Europe', which publishes multimedia pieces on The Europe in the World website. Marc is also the coordinator of the Human Rights Reporting specialisation. He played an important part in curriculum development for the School of Journalism with regards to the changing dynamic of International Law and Human Rights and regularly lectures on the history and role of Human Rights in international diplomacy and conflict situations. Marc has coordinated and taught special modules on Conflict Reporting and his is a published author of scholarly and professsional articles on the subject of law and journalism. In the past he has worked as a researcher and producer for national Dutch television.
