Kerrie Foxwell-Norton is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Humanities at Griffith University. She is the co-author of the 2009 book, Developing Dialogues: Indigenous and ethnic community media broadcasting in Australia (London, Intellect), and her research expertise extends into environmental communication. Her specific interest in media and environment is examined in recently published international research about the place of communication and culture in environmental policy development, and the ways in which different media frame local environmental controversies. She teaches into both the Griffith Journalism program in the field of journalism studies and analysis; and into the university's 'social enterprise' stream which examines the world of third-sector and non-government organisations. Along with Forde, she is involved in the deliver of new courses in alternative and community media, and radical media and social movements, in coming semesters.
